The Pickens County Sheriff's Office has shared via social media the unexpected passing of one of their Deputies.
Early Monday morning, Sergeant Brian Atkins suffered a cardiac event at his home. Atkins began his career with the Sheriff's Office in 2011 at the detention center. He later transitioned to the Uniform Patrol Division, where he most recently served as the Sergeant of the Charlie Team. In their post, the Pickens County Sheriff's Offices said "Brian was an exceptional Deputy who was loved and cherished by many."
