Privacy concerns surrounding law enforcement's use of the Flock Camera System continue, following the termination of two Greer police officers.. Last week, we reported that Corporal Kareem Lynch and Officer Sebastian Echeverry were terminated on June 29th following an investigation into the alleged misuse of Flock license plate reader cameras.
In a video posted to social media, Pickens County Sheriff Tommy Blankenship says Flock cameras can be an important investigative tool when they're used according to policy.
In an effort to be transparent, Sheriff Blankenship said the Pickens County Sheriff's Office has 16 Flock cameras installed on private property and aimed at public roadways. He says those cameras provide coverage across 466 of Pickens County's 512 square miles.
