An investigation is ongoing after a plane crashed into the Catawba River, Friday morning. The York County Sheriff's Office responded just after 10AM to a report that a plane crash landed in the river near Rock Hill.
Reports say, the pilot and passenger did not suffer major injuries and were able to exit the plane. The aircraft was said to still be in the water towards the Lancaster County side , as of 11:30 AM Friday.
Officials in York County say, the FAA has been notified and has now taken over the investigation. No further details have been made available as of the time of this report.
