
Police checkpoints over the weekend led to the arrest of two suspects. The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office says they set up checkpoints in high crime areas of the county, which led to two felony arrests, a vehicle seizure and 24 citations being issued.
On Friday, a suspect identified as David Reid Chestnut drove through a checkpoint which lead to a pursuit. Chestnut led deputies on a chase across the South Carolina line before he was stopped and taken into custody.
The Sheriff's Office says that in a separate incident, Marvin Deon Logan was arrested a checkpoint for outstanding warrants. Logan was arrested on a warrant for assault with a deadly weapon and is being held without bond.
Chestnut is currently being held here in the Upstate and is expected to be extradited to North Carolina to face a charge of felony eluding.
