Pumpin' and playin'... a new city park is in the development stages...
Nestled between Airport Road and Airport Road Extension lies a currently unused 10-acre canvas the City of Greenville hopes to transform into a regional Wheelsports Park.
The plot, located adjacent to the downtown airport, is the proposed site for a park that would include a concrete skatepark, an asphalt pump track, and a paved bicycle playground.
In July 2025, as part the project launch, a drop-in style meeting was held July 28, 2025 to seek initial ideas.
On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, a second of three drop-in style meetings will be held at the Greenville Convention Center at 1 Exposition Drive in Greenville to allow Designers to gather information and develop three concepts for the park. If you are unable to make the meeting, click HERE to complete an online project survey.
Phase 3 of the project, consultants will use all information gathered to create a final design for the Regional Wheelsports Park. City Council will review the work after it is shared with the public (date and time to be determined).
Phase 4 of the project, upon City Council approval, the design team will develop engineering drawings. The project will go out for public bid and scheduled for construction.
