A former Governor of the Palmetto State says, he's entering the fray for the U.S. Senate Seat that was held by the late Lindsey Graham. Mark Sanford said on social media Thursday, that he will enter the Special Republican Primary for August 11th.
Sanford was a guest on Sunrise Carolina with Joey Hudson Friday morning and he says he's running out of concern for the direction our nation is headed in. Sanford said " I'm worried to death with our country's financial path. I mean, we're going to add another trillion to our national debt over the next 100 days".
Sanford mentioned that several people encouraged him to get involved in the Primary race. " A bunch of folks said when that seat open, (Mark) you should do this. You've long cared about this. You have stood the test of time, as far as being consistent and pushing for what's best for our pocketbooks and wallets".
Sanford has held the Governor's Office and represented South Carolina in the U.S. Congress. He enters an already crowded field that includes Congressmen Ralph Norman and Russell Fry, Greenville Businessman Mark Lynch, Darline Graham and others.
