South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of 26 year old, Columbus Alvin Hooper, IV of Honea Path, S.C., and 20 year old, Jackson Paul Miller of Taylors, S.C., on 19 total charges connected to the sexual exploitation of minors. Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office made the arrests in these unrelated cases. Investigators with the Attorney General's Office, also a member of the state's ICAC Task Force, assisted with Miller's investigation.
Investigators received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) which led them to Miller. Investigators state both Hooper and Miller possessed multiple files of child sexual abuse material. Miller also engaged in criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
Hooper was arrested on November 9, 2021. He is charged with five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, third degree. Miller was arrested on November 16, 2021. Additional charges were filed on November 17. He is charged with four counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor and 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, third degree. Both of these cases will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
