Thousands of people are expected in the Upstate for the South Carolina Chili Cook-Off Championships this weekend. The nonprofit event will be held Saturday in the Anderson County town of Belton.
This year marks the 14th straight that the event has been held in downtown Belton. 40 pro and amateur cooks will have chili to sample when wristbands go on sale at 11AM. Unlimited tasting bands will be 20 dollars or you can get five samples for five dollars.
There will be four categories of chili- traditional, homestyle, Verde and vegetarian. The proceeds from the event will go to various charity organizations in the Belton area.
