An Upstate Sheriff's Office is warning residents of a ongoing scam. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says, a man has been calling citizens claiming to be Sheriff Chuck Wright. The scammer tells the person he calls that they are under investigation.
The caller is spoofing the Sheriff's Office number of 503-4500. The Sheriff's Office wants to remind the public not to provide any personal information to the scam caller. If anyone has been scammed out of money they should file a report with the Sheriff's Office.
