Dodging potholes can be dangerous... so make sure SCDOT knows about them....

As paving season begins for the South Carolina Department of Transportation, the agency is encouraging drivers to let 'em know where potholes are, so they can be filled.

(Hopefully they're on a good server because this invitation just may crash their site.)

The Pothole Blitz will take place over the next several weeks. Drivers should report problem areas by filling out a maintenance work request form at SCDOT.org/pothole. Now, for those that didn't dodge a pothole in time and incurred some damage, claims can be filed on that web page as well.

And as always, should you see crew members working during this statewide initiative, the SCDOT asks that you please slow down and give them space to work.

PRESS RELEASE: Columbia, S.C. ( March , 2025) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will hold a Pothole Blitz event as paving season begins. The Pothole Blitz will take place over the next several weeks.

SCDOT encourages drivers that notice a pothole on a state-maintained road to submit a maintenance work request so our crews can add it to the list. As we receive requests, SCDOT maintenance forces will be working to patch and repair potholes.

Following winter weather this year, we have seen an increase in potholes and this initiative is designed to help make those repairs rapidly.

SCDOT asks that if you encounter our crews, please slow down and give them space to work.
