GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Troopers are looking for a dark-colored Chevrolet pickup truck whose driver struck and killed a woman riding her bicycle on a South Carolina trail and did not stop.

Carli Brewer Soukup, 33, died Sunday afternoon after she was hit in a crosswalk while crossing a Greenville street on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, the Greenville County Coroner’s Office said.

Investigators determined the truck that struck Soukup was a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado with South Carolina license plate SXQ-398, according to a Twitter post from Master Trooper Brandon Bolt.

The pickup likely has damage to its hood and front end, Bolt said.

There is a traffic signal and a crosswalk to help bicyclists get across Sulphur Springs Road where the wreck happened. Troopers did not say whether the light was red or green when the crash happened.

Soukup taught fifth grade at Mitchell Road Elementary and Greenville County School District officials said counselors were being brought in to talk to students Monday.
