SC's biggest football programs break out their bowling shoes

Both Clemson and South Carolina to play in bowl games this week

Two in-state college football teams are breaking out the bowling shoes this week. Both Clemson and South Carolina have earned bowl bids.
The Tigers are set to take on Iowa State tomorrow evening (Wednesday) in the Cheez-It Bowl , that game is set for a 5:45 kickoff and will air on ESPN.
Clemson is 8-4 in bowl games (excluding National Title Games) under Dabo Swinney . The Tigers are sitting at 9-3 and are looking to finish with double digit wins for the 11th consecutive season. The last time Clemson finished with less than 10 wins was the 2010 season.

South Carolina is in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl under 1st year Head Coach Shane Beamer. It’ll be a border battle as the Gamecocks take on North Carolina. South Carolina is looking for their 1st winning season since 2018, the program is 5-2 in their last 7 bowl appearances dating back to 2011. The Gamecocks and Tar Heels square off at 11:30 Thursday morning , that game is also set to air on ESPN.
