The search for the driver continues nearly a month after a hit and run crash left an Upstate woman severely injured. On March 8th, Peggy Hughes was walking across the intersection of Fairview Road and Grandview Drive in Simpsonville, when a vehicle ran the red light and hit her.
Hughes was left with life threatening injuries and the driver fled the scene. The Simpsonville Police Department is still looking to identify the driver. Surveillance cameras in nearby stores captured footage of a blue/green midsize SUV, but the video did not capture a clear look at the license plate.
Since the crash, Hughes has undergone multiple surgeries. She continues to undergo intense rehab on her long road to recovery. Anyone with info on the crash is asked to contact Simpsonville Police at 967-9536.
