The search for a wanted man in Western North Carolina continues. The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported break-in at a home in Arden, Monday, October 26, 2026. Deputies responded and the suspect Durrell Marquise Norris ran from the home and a search ensued.

Drones and a helicopter were brought in on the search but deputies were unable to locate Norris.
He's wanted in unrelated warrants for attempted murder, assault by strangulation, multiple weapons violations and more. Norris has a long criminal history, the search for him remains ongoing, as of the time of this report.
