The search is on for a suspect following an attempted Armed Robbery in the Upstate early Thursday morning. The Simpsonville Police Department says the suspect attempted to break into a vehicle on Richardson Street in Simpsonville after 1 AM Thursday.

The suspect reportedly pulled a gun on the owner of the vehicle, when he was confronted and fled the scene in what police say was a late model 4 door sedan. The suspect is described as a white male standing about 5 ft 10 and weighing about 140 pounds. Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the Simpsonville Police Dept.
