
The search is on for an inmate who escaped an Upstate jail. Rob Jones has more on that story. Authorities say, 25 year old Joshua Lee Shoemaker escaped the Cherokee County Detention Center sometime around 10 PM, Monday night.

Shoemaker reportedly escaped through an emergency exit and used a blanket to cover the razor wire and climbed over the fence. Deputies say, he cut himself on the razor wire leaving a trail of blood, they believe he then got into a vehicle and fled the scene.

Shoemaker was being held in Cherokee County on charges of armed robbery, weapons violations, assault and grand larceny. Anyone with info on his whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 888-274-6372.
