Services are set for this weekend to honor fallen Spartanburg County Deputy Austin Aldridge. His funeral service is set for 4 pm Sunday at the Church At The Mill on Anderson Mill Road. He will then be laid to rest at Westwood Memorial Gardens in Moore.
A procession Thursday afternoon carried Aldridge from Spartanburg Regional to Floyd's Mortuary, dozens of law enforcement vehicles took part in the processional. The Deputy's patrol car is outside of the Sheriff's Office for the community to pay their respects.
A candlelight vigil to honor Aldridge is planned for tonight at the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office. A GoFundMe page has been established to benefit his widow and unborn child, as of yesterday the page had raised over 80 thousand dollars. The Sheriff's Office says they have lowered their flags to half staff in memory of Deputy Aldridge.
