There were threats of a shooting at Palmetto High School in Williamston. The police there say those threats were not credible. In late 2021, there was a student who brought a gun to school in Greenville County. That student was arrested and there was no actual shooting in that incident. It makes you wonder that if metal detectors were in all Upstate schools, if it would curb possible situations before they have a chance of getting started. In Anderson County at a school board meeting in October, the Sheriff's Office set up metal detectors and dig bag searches upon entry, to curtail any possible incidents. So the question today is, should all Upstate schools have metal detectors that students pass through upon entry? Let us know below.
