South Carolina State Representative Todd Rutherford is calling for a lowering of the legal drinking age. The Columbia area Democrat has proposed moving the drinking age down from 21 to 18. His reasoning for the proposed move are that people are able vote and join the military at 18. The drinking age in South Carolina was 18 up until the early to mid-80's.
