An investigation is ongoing after an inmate died over the weekend at an Upstate jail. Officials say an inmate died at Union County Detention Center, Saturday morning. The Union County Coroner's Office has identified the deceased as 51 year old, Barbara Jean Lillard of Jonesville.
There's been no details released regarding her death and an autopsy is still pending. SLED is investigating the incident which is standard protocol for inmate deaths across the state.
