SLED is investigating after an alleged election day altercation at a polling location in the Low Country. The Colleton County Sheriff's Office says an altercation was reported at the Green Pond Community Center poll location, Tuesday.
Officials say, the incident involved sitting Democratic State Representative Michael F. Rivers. He had left the scene prior to deputies arriving. Investigators did say a gun was displayed during the altercation.
However, they didn't clarify who brandished the weapon. SLED was called into take the lead in the case since the incident involved a current member of the state legislature.
