Charges against an Upstate man accused in a double murder case in 2021 have now been dropped. The 8th Circuit Solicitor's Office has dropped charges on two counts of murder against 23 year old, Cassius Marcello Broadwater.
The charges came after two Upstate women, 23 year old Ariel Beeks of Donalds and 22 year old Kyndall Curry of Ware Shoals were shot death, while in a parked car outside of a Greenwood home.
The Solicitors Office reports that new evidence in the case led them to drop the charges against Broadwater. They say, the Greenwood Police Department is expected to charge suspect, Quindarius Washington in connection to the shooting.
Broadwater remains in custody on unrelated charges.
