An Upstate man will spend the next 15 years in prison for trafficking meth and other charges. 44 year old, Matthew Drake Simmons of Spartanburg entered guilty pleas in court Thursday to charges of trafficking meth, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and a weapons violation.
The charges stem from an incident in February of last year, when the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office responded to his home in Boiling Springs. When deputies arrived they found 42 ounces of meth in the trunk of a vehicle in his driveaway.
Simmons has been sentenced to 15 years on the meth trafficking charge and concurrent sentences of a total of 15 years for possession with intent to distribute marijuana and the weapons charge.
