State officials have found multiple security issues at a daycare center in the Upstate. During an incident in August at Kindercare in Greenville, a child got out of the building and wandered into traffic.
The Department of Health and Human Services has been investigating the incident since. The 3 year old child was found by a driver that was passing by and helped the child to safety. Officials have made three unannounced visits to Kindercare since the incident.
Those visits revealed violations of state regulations. Last week, DHHS staff found doors to the outside propped open with nobody posted near those doors. In September, officials found a Kindercare staffer sleeping while supervising children.
