Attorney Fletcher Smith, representing Lisa Sweeney, filed the lawsuit in a Greenville court last week seeking the release of $50,000 earmarked by the state legislature.

The paper writes that Allen has a history of delaying the delivery of state allocated funds to charities.

In addition to Senator Allen, the lawsuit also names the Department of Health and Human Services.
