Stolen items found on Facebook Marketplace leads to charges against seven in Fountain Inn.

On Saturday, March 2, 2024, Deputies from the Laurens County Sheriff's Office were called to Wofford Shoals Road for a theft that already happened. A racing go-cart had been taken from the property according to the victim.

That stolen go-cart then showed up on Facebook Marketplace.

This isn't the first time the property had been hit. Other items taken between 2023 and February 2024 include a camper, tool chest and Yamaha motorcycle.

An extensive investigation determined that Justin Terry, Jeffrey Lowe, Christopher Lewis, Matthew Legette, Wayne Holmes and Chris Griffith were all involved in the thefts.

Several of the suspects are currently incarcerated at other facilities and will be transferred to the Laurens County Detention Center.

All are charged with grand larceny and burglary. More charges are possible as well as more arrests.  In a social media post, Sheriff Don Reynolds said  "these individuals have extensive records. If they can be held accountable and kept in jail, this reckless and costly criminal activity will stop."
