Student charged with making bomb threats at Upstate school

As Greenville County students started the new school year today, a teenager is facing charges connected to a bomb threat. The Greenville County Sheriff's Office say a 15 year old girl, who's a student at Wade Hampton high sent multiple emails making bomb threats towards the school.

Officials say the school campus was thoroughly searched and no credible threat was found. The 15 year old who has not been publicly identified, due to their age was taken into custody, Wednesday night.

She's being held at the DJJ facility in Columbia on two charges of conveying bomb threats. The District says Wade Hampton High will have an increased police presence as a precautionary measure.
