Newly released data shows that BMW is a major impact player when it comes to the state economy. A study from the Moore school Of Business at the University Of South Carolina says, BMW has an annual impact of 26 billion dollars on the state's economy.

The study shows that Plant Spartanburg here in the Upstate supports over 40,000 jobs statewide and accounts for nearly 5% of the total manufacturing jobs in the state.

Future growth is expected as BMW has announced plans to invest nearly 2 billion dollars to create new jobs by building a battery plant in Woodruff and producing electric vehicles on the Plant Spartanburg campus.
