What's known as the "SuperBowl Of Fishing" is underway as the Bassmaster Classic is back in the Upstate today-Sunday. Takeoffs are happening at Green Pond Landing on Lake Hartwell in Anderson County, with daily weigh-ins being held at the Well in Greenville. The Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo is being held at the Greenville Convention Center, all events are free admission to the public. The SC DNR will handle safely returning bass caught during the tournament to Lake Hartwell once the weigh-ins are complete.
Neil Paul, the Executive Director of VisistAndersonSC said " having hosted this event in the past we can speak to the significant economic impact it has and the residual tourism impact will be felt in Anderson County and Greenville for years to come".
No other area has hosted the event more, as this marks the Classic has been held in the Upstate.
