Cold Case Investigators believe they may have solved a murder case that's over a decade old. The Greenville County Sheriff's Office says it obtained a warrant for a suspect in the murder of Allison Southerland-Craine 12 years ago.
On August 7th 2009, Southerland-Craine was found dead under a bridge on Lakeside Road in Greenville. She died at the age of 24 after suffering multiple blunt force injuries. On Monday Morning, 38 year old Jeffrey Ray Phillips was charged with the murder. He is currently doing time in Tennessee while awaiting trial in an unrelated murder case.
Investigators say the two were acquainted, as Phillips was a cab driver that Southerland-Craine frequently rode with. The motive is still under investigation, but investigators tied Phillips to the murder by uncovering cell phone records.
