A suspect is dead in after an officer involved shooting in Western North Carolina. The Asheville Police responded to a call about an armed person at a business on Hendersonville Road, around 9:45PM Tuesday.
When officers arrived, the suspect shot at police through a glass door and officers returned fire, hitting the suspect. He was taken to Mission Hospital where he later died.
One officer was injured by the shattered glass. The suspect's name has not been released. That shooting under investigation by NC State Bureau of Investigation.
