Authorities say about a half-dozen deputies shot and killed a man who fired at them multiple times during a standoff at a South Carolina home. Richland County deputies say, the standoff started about 9 AM Monday, when a utility worker came to the man’s property to do work and he forced her to leave at gunpoint.
Investigators say, the man then shot at two deputies who were sent to the home in northeast Richland County. Authorities say after refusing to talk to them for over an hour, the man came outside and stared shooting at deputies. Investigators say five to six deputies fired back, killing the suspect.
SLED is investigating the incident which is standard protocol for office involved shootings The identity of the suspect has not been released, as of the time of this report.
