
A suspect is in custody after a police standoff in Oconee County, early Wednesday morning. The Seneca Police Department responded to a reported disturbance at a home on North Pine Street, around 12:30 AM.
Upon arrival, the suspect Zachary Hackett went inside the home and then brandished a gun. Police say, after some negotiations Hackett fired a shot at an officer.
The Oconee County Sheriff's Office SWAT team was also called to the scene. After a standoff of several hours, Hackett came out of the home peacefully and was taken into custody without incident.
Hackett is charged with one count of attempted murder.
