A suspect from North Carolina has been arrested in connection with the death of an Upstate teenager. As we previously reported, Laurens County Deputies were called to the area home on Tanglewood Way in Gray Court around 5:30AM, Saturday.
When they arrived, they found 15-year-old Leo Scott Epting lying in the roadway. He later died from his injuries.
The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office announced an arrest in the case. 18 year old, Ryan Ingersoll of Charlotte is charged with murder, armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Investigators say a juvenile suspect has also been detained in North Carolina and is awaiting extradition to South Carolina. Sheriff Don Reynolds says “This has truly been a tragic and unnecessary loss of a young life."
Due to the sensitive nature of the investigation, deputies say no additional information will be released at this time.
