A hit-and-run driver in a crash that killed a Greenville County teacher will spend more than the next 20 years in prison.
As we previously reported, Mantavious Morris was charged after crashing a stolen truck and killing 33 year old, Carli Soukoup in 2021. Soukoup was riding her bicycle near the Swamp Rabbit Trail when she was struck and killed.
Morris fled the scene and was arrested two weeks later. He entered guilty pleas Monday to charges for hit and run resulting in death, reckless homicide, and being a habitual traffic offender in a deadly crash.
McMorris was sentenced to 23 years in prison.
