A suspect is in custody after an attempted robbery at an Upstate retail store. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office responded to the Shoe Department location in Boiling Springs, Friday evening.
Investigators say the suspect, John Christian Knox demanded cash from the clerk and alluded that he was armed. Knox reportedly fled the store on foot.
Later that evening, deputies responded to a disturbance, they then located Knox and took him into custody. Investigators say he confessed during an interview, he's charged with strong armed robbery.
