A reported case of domestic violence led to a barricaded suspect incident Sunday morning in Greenville County.
9-1-1 dispatchers got the call from a domestic violence victim who said they fled from a home on South Florida Avenue in the Welcome community of Greenville around 8:30AM.
The suspect, later identified as 34 year old Ismael Rutledge, barricaded himself inside the home, which led to deputies and SWAT responding to the scene.
Rutledge was arrested a few hours later. Investigators determined Rutledge assaulted the victim, holding her at gunpoint against her will, preventing her from leaving the scene or contacting law enforcement.
He faces charges of domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, kidnapping and resisting arrest.
