Police are conducting a death investigation after a woman's body was found in her Upstate home Tuesday night. The Oconee County Coroner's Office reports the body of 54 year old, Cruz Cantero was discovered in her Pitchford Street home in Walhalla.
Police have arrested 19 year old Gilbert Nava of Seneca in connection with Cantero's death. He is being held in the Oconee County Detention Center.
SLED has been asked to assist in the homicide investigation and Walhalla Police are asking anyone with information on this case to contact them.
