A Tennessee man will spend time behind bars in North Carolina after pleading guilty to a list of charges following an incident there, last year. In March of 2022, The Weaverville Police Department responded to the Fairfield Inn there on a report that a woman was being assaulted and held against her will.
The suspect, 30 year old Richard Barnhill was taken into custody following the incident. He has now entered guilty pleas to charges of 1st degree kidnapping, attempted rape, and breaking and entering with intent to terrorize.
Barnhill faces a minimum prison sentence of 6 and a half years and a maximum of 9 years.
