A suspect is in custody after a shooting at a retail store in Aiken, Wednesday night that injured a teenage girl. The Aiken County Sheriff's Office says, the shooting happened just after 7:30 PM at the Wal-Mart on Whiskey Road.
While deputies and Aiken Police officers were in route, dispatchers got a call from the suspect, 32 year old Stephen Christopher Foreman. He told them that he had left the store and was at a nearby KFC restaurant. Foreman was located and taken into custody.
Police say, Foreman told them he left the gun on a shelf inside the Wal-Mart and the 1911 Colt Pistol was recovered. The 13 year old victim was shot in the arm and stomach, she was transported to an area hospital. There's been no update on her condition, as of the time of this report.
Foreman is charged with attempted murder and a weapons violation. Officials say, that there is no known connection between Foreman and the victim and there's no known motive for the shooting.
Foreman's criminal history includes a 2019 arrest for allegedly kidnapping his parents and brother and holding them at gunpoint.
