Aiken County Coroner has confirmed that the shooting was a result of a chase after U.S. Deputy Marshals were attempting to execute an arrest warrant at a hotel that resulted in a high speed chase that ended in a crash. 34-year-old Robert L. Wright was killed after multiple shots were fired by the deputy marshals.

SLED says the investigation is still active and they have not released any information on what led to the shooting. The SLED investigation is stand protocol in officer involved shootings.
