A technical glitch reportedly caused a major delay in the finalization of election results, in one Upstate county. The Post and Courier reports, that a corrupted thumb drive caused Greenville County to be well behind other neighboring counties on election night.

Data from over 3,500 mailed in ballots were stored on the drive, which became corrupted and unreadable. Once that issue was discovered officials then had to scan the mailed in ballots physically, slowing the process.

It was around 4AM Wednesday before the county published its results. Over 175,000 people voted in Greenville County, which was a voter turnout rate of just over 50 percent.
