The family that does the crime together, faces time together. A grandmother and grandson have both been charged after a shooting in Gaffney left a teenager dead.
As we previously reported, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded Nov. 22nd to a shooting on McKowns Mountain Road. Upon arrival, a teenager was with a gunshot wound. The 15 year old died a few days later while being treated at a local hospital.
Now investigators say, 20 year old Christopher Ray and 66 year old, Carol Jackson Ray have been charged in the shooting. Christopher Ray allegedly told deputies that the shooting was a suicide attempt.
However, other witnesses reported that Ray shot the teenager on accident while the two were playing with a handgun.
On Tuesday, Christopher Ray was arrested on charges of manslaughter and a weapons violation. Carol Ray was arrested for obstruction of justice.
