The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down in Pickens County briefly during last Friday's severe weather. The tornado, with 100 mile per hour winds, uprooted trees on Hagood Mill Road and Earnest Way to East Preston McDaniel Road, just north of Pickens. The twister was on the ground for about four minutes, damaging at least one home, but no injuries were reported
