One person is dead following a weekend crash in Greenville County. The single vehicle wreck happened around 9 PM on Rutherford Road near Mooney Road, about 3 miles north of Greenville.
Master Trooper Gary Miller of the South Carolina Highway Patrol says the driver of a BMW sedan lost control, ran off the road and hit a concrete barrier. The driver was taken to Greenville Memorial where they later died from injuries suffered in the crash.
The deceased driver has not yet been identified. Traffic fatalities continue to rise as the Upstate has had at least one fatal wreck reported every weekend for the last several weeks.
