Traffic stop in WNC leads to seizure of drugs, guns & cash

A traffic stop in Western North Carolina led to the seizure of drugs, guns and cash. The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle Tuesday in the Sandy Mush Community.

The driver of the vehicle, Zeb John Davis, deputies knew Davis had a revoked license and had an active warrant. During the traffic stop, a K-9 was brought into and alerted on the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle turned up nearly three pounds of meth, an ounce and a half of fentanyl, almost half an ounce of psychedelic mushrooms and various prescription pills.

Deputies also found two handguns and over 9,000 dollars in cash. Davis is charged with trafficking meth and fentanyl, multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance, and multiple weapons violations.

He also had a warrant for communicating threats. Davis is being held in Rutherford County on a bond of over two million dollars.
