A new bike route designed to keep Greenville area cyclists safer has now been established.

The new route starts in the Berea community, then connects to White Horse Road and the Swamp Rabbit Trail before ending in downtown Greenville.

A non-profit group called Bike Walk Greenville spearheaded the creation of the new route.

The group collected private donations and public funding from Greenville County to carry out the project, which they believe will significantly cut down the number of bike-related crashes and fatalities in those areas.
