The trail of what was a cold case murder in the Upstate, has now heated up. The Pickens County Sheriff's Office says, that an arrest has been made in a fatal shooting case from two years ago.
In the Spring of 2021, 32 year old Heyward "Trey" Price was found shot to death at a home in Easley. Since then Deputies followed leads and submitted evidence to the SLED Crime Lab for processing, to no avail.
However, a recent DNA match helped investigators identify the suspect. 24 year old, Ja'Kwon Tajeek Walker of Clinton was arrested last week, after the DNA match led detectives to discover new evidence tying him to Price's death. Walker is charged with murder, burglary and a weapons violation.
