With two weeks to go before the South Carolina Republican primary, Nikki Haley and Donald Trump have been making campaign stops in the state.
Haley has recently been in Orangeburg, Newberry, Greenwood and Lexington. Haley touched on Trumps "mental fitness", an attack she has sharpened since a Jan. 19 speech in which he repeatedly confused her with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Trump was in Conway, near Myrtle Beach, on Saturday. During his rally speech he lobbed jabs at Haley and questioned why her husband, Michael, hasn't been on the campaign trail. (He is deployed on a yearlong stint in Africa with the South Carolina Army National Guard) Trump also criticized foreign aid generally and a plan in Congress to provide nearly $100 billion in aid for Ukraine and Israel.
According to Haley's website, her next campaign stop will be in Summerville, SC on Tuesday. Trump is listed as the keynote speaker for the Black Conservative Federation Honors Gala on Feb. 23 at Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. https://www.bcfaction.com/2024honorsgala
