Two Arrested and Charged in Greenville Hotel Homicide

Two people have been booked into the Greenville County Detention center, charged with murder, in the shooting death of a man at a Greenville hotel Friday.

Authorities were called to the Days Inn and Suites on Roper Mtn. Road Friday night regarding a burglary.  Once on scene, they found 29 year old Deontay Jay Lynch of Inman dead from a gunshot wound, inside one of the suites.

Officials said Monday Devonte Tyrese Orr and Joeanna Isabela Badger, were arrested in Jasper County and transported to the Greenville County Detention Center.

Investigators learned Orr and Badger visited the victim at his hotel room where some exchange led to the deadly shooting. Investigators are still working on a motive.

Warrants said the suspects entered Lynch's room without consent and used a handgun to shoot him.

Orr and Badger face murder charges. Additionally, Orr is charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Deputies are still working to come up with a suspect after a fatal shooting at a Greenville hotel Friday.
Authorities were called to the Days Inn and Suites on Roper Mtn. Road Friday night regarding a burglary in progress. Once on scene, they found a man dead from a gunshot wound, inside one of the suites. The Coroner identified the deceased as 29 year old  Deontay Jay Lynch of Inman. His death has been ruled a homicide. Investigators suspect foul play, but there are no suspects at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
